How Do We Have Faith In The Storm?

How Do We Have Faith In The Storm?

By Stephanie Stephenson

Life can often feel like a series of calm days punctuated by unexpected storms. Just the other day, I decided to go for a walk, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the fresh air. I strolled a good distance from home, loving every minute of the peaceful weather. Off in the distance, I spotted some dark clouds, but I shrugged them off, too relaxed to worry.

Then, out of nowhere, the storm was upon me. It started to pour so heavily that I could barely see a few steps ahead.

Panic set in, and I knew I had to make a run for it or risk getting completely drenched in the torrent.

Isn’t life just like that?

We can be cruising along, feeling great, and then suddenly, a challenge hits us out of nowhere. Whether it’s a personal setback, a health issue, or something unexpected at work, these storms remind us that we can’t always predict or control what happens next.

But what we can do is choose how to respond.

Hebrews 11:1, truth says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Is your faith soaring or is it sagging?

Consider This:
If your faith is sagging, it’ll bring you down to see what man sees, what man believes. And often, that’s only darkness and chaos.

If your faith is soaring it sees from a higher perspective, God’s perspective.

It knows that there is work happening within that storm. Winds that would shake you up and spit you out without God. But with God?

They propel you upward to sail above and while you may not know when the storm is ending, you will know that His purpose for you in the storm will be more glorious than anything found in this world.

Pray with me?
Lord, storms are never easy for us to sail through. They often hit quickly, without notice. I pray that you help us to be trained to adjust our vision for when they do come. Even though it may not make the storm any less powerful, it does allow us to focus on your higher reality, helping us see that you are at work.

In Jesus Name,
Amen
