Stop Focusing On The How. Focus On This Instead.

Stop Focusing On The How. Focus On This Instead.

By Stephanie Stephenson

As we kicked off the new year, there was just this amazing energy buzzing around the musical theatre scene. We all knew we had a huge task ahead of us - putting on two big productions in Branson, MO.

One year really stands out in my mind. The producer decided to go for it and have us stage two two-hour shows in just three weeks!

I was lucky enough to be a lead in both of them, which meant a mountain of lines, dance moves, and songs to memorize.

We dove right in, rehearsing morning, noon, and night. It was intense, but as opening night approached, it felt like we might actually pull it off!

Honestly, nobody had any clue as to how we were going to make it happen, but there was this underlying faith that we could do it because the producer believed in us.

He knew we were right for those roles, and that gave us the confidence we needed.

We trusted that the choreography would come together, the scripts would be learned, and we’d find our voices along the way.

And guess what? We really did! It all came together beautifully, and when we opened those two shows to standing ovations, it was pure magic.

We didn’t know the "how," but we leaned on the wisdom of the one who did, and the journey became something truly special that we’ll always remember.

Truth
In Proverbs 3:5-6, truth says, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Friend, don’t let the “How” overwhelm you.

Consider This:
God gives us each a purpose to fulfill. It’s that passion that burns in your heart. A lot of times, though, we stop moving forward because we get stuck on the how.

How can this big thing come to fruition, Lord? I don’t have the right training. I don’t have the money. I don’t have the people. I don’t, I don’t, I don’t. And you know what, you don’t, but He does.

You are destined for so much more than you’ve known. Give Him all of the questions, fears, and doubts, and just take one small step forward. It may not make sense in your brain right now, but remember, He is the holder of all things.

And by your obedience, trust, and faith He makes the impossible possible. The how no longer becomes a distraction. You can focus on just moving. He will reveal and orchestrate all things in His perfect timing.

Pray with me?
Lord, You make the impossible possible. Help us to lay all the things that may overwhelm us down at your feet in order to continue stepping into the great things you have planned for us.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
