There was a time in my life when I had the privilege of working with a wonderful client who had carried the burden of harsh words that haunted her since childhood. This was a joyful, loving woman of God, full of kindness, yet she believed she wasn't good enough and doubted her worth and purpose.
The critical words from her past echoed in her mind like a broken record,
distorting her self-image throughout her adult life. Despite her radiant spirit and generous heart, she felt unworthy. Our journey together was about unraveling those painful knots, so she could see herself through the loving eyes of God and embrace the beautiful purpose that was always hers.
In Psalm 119:28, truth says, “My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.”
God’s Words are life!
Consider This:
His Word isn’t just some book of stories and history lessons. His word is living!
It brings us strength and life more than any other words that have been spoken or will be spoken in human existence.
When you’re criticized or demeaned by another, bring those death words back to Him and He will show you Truth.
When your own heart words tell you, you aren’t enough, remember He is always greater than your heart.
Pray with Me?
Lord, Thank you for the words you speak over us. Whether to bring about transformation or show us who we really are, your words bring us life. Help us to lay down the hurtful words we’ve received or have even given ourselves. Bring us to a place where all we desire is to know you and your truth more.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
