When Your Heart Feels Broken

When Your Heart Feels Broken

By Stephanie Stephenson

In 2010, our family faced an unimaginable storm of grief that shook us to our core. Just two weeks after we gathered to say goodbye to my beloved grandmother, we were hit with yet another devastating blow—my 20-year-old cousin lost his life in a tragic car accident.

It felt surreal, as if the ground had crumbled beneath us. We were left grappling with so much heartache in such a short time, transforming our once joyful family gatherings into moments filled with silence and sorrow. The grief we experienced was unparalleled, a heavy blanket that seemed to envelop every part of our lives.

In Isaiah 51:11, truth says, "Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away."

He can heal your broken heart.

Consider This:
God knows your innermost being. He hears your thoughts. He sees how you’ve been mistreated, how you’ve lost love or someone close, how you’ve been grieving a life that once was or one you thought was going to be.

He sees it all and He is with you through it all. In times when loneliness and heartache strikes pain in you, know that you have infinite access to the One who anoints your soul to heal your deepest wounds.

Pray with me?
Lord, Thank you for always being with us. Like the air we breathe but can’t physically see, you are life. You are honey to our wounded souls and we can’t live without you. Help us become more aware of your presence when we walk through the hardest of times and to remember to lean on you.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.
